Lamborghini Huracan Spyder launched

Automobili Lamborghini has launched the Huracan Spyder today. It looks similar to the regular Huracan, except for the electro-hydraulic soft-top that can be opened or closed at speeds up to 50kph. Also, the whole roof can extend and retract in just 17 seconds.

The topless Huracan is powered by the familiar 5.2-litre V10 engine that churns out 602bhp and 560Nm of peak torque. All that power is sent to four wheels through a seven-speed dual-clutch transmission. Weighing in at just 1542 kg – thanks to the aluminium and carbon-fibre body – scintillating performance is assured. The Spyder can complete the 0-100kph routine in 3.4secs, just 0.2secs slower than its coupe sibling. The roofless bull manages a top whack of 324kph.

Step inside and you’re greeted by a driver-focused yet luxurious cabin. The dashboard, seats and door trims are swathed in premium quality leather and Alcantara. The layout of the interior is similar to the Coupe and gets a flat-bottomed steering wheel with steering-mounted large paddle shifters. Hexagonal AC vents can be seen along with a 12.3-inch TFT instrument cluster and toggle switches on the centre console. Moreover, the list of accessories include an optical park assist with reversing camera, navigation system, Bluetooth interface, audio interface with six speakers, digital radio tuner among others.

The launch of the Huracan Spyder coincided with the inauguration of the new state-of-the-art Lamborghini dealership in Mumbai. With the advent of the Spyder, the Italian manufacturer has expanded the Huracan range to a total of three models. The other two being the LP 610-4 and the rear-wheel-only LP 580-2.

Now here’s the sad part for most of us, the price. Lamborghini is asking a whopping Rs.3.89 crore (ex-showroom Delhi) for this masterpiece. Wish we could give.
