An updated version of the stunning Jaguar F-Type Coupe has been caught testing at the Nurburgring
A face lifted version of the Jaguar F-Type Coupe has been spied testing near the brand’s Nurburgring test facility in Germany. Snapped on both road and track, the snarling sports car is likely to go on sale some time in 2017.
While details are currently quite scarce, it’s clear from these pictures that the Porsche 911-fighting F-Type will get a subtle nip and tuck both front and rear. New head lamps – presumably full LED – feature on the nose, alongside a resculpted grille.
These pictures don’t give much away at the rear, but as with many mid-life face lifts, we expect the production model to get updated lights and lightly revised bumpers. The ‘S’ badge on the nose and twin exhausts suggest this is the supercharged V6 version, rather than the range-topping F-Type R.
Along with the new styling, Jaguar is likely to tweak the engine for performance and efficiency improvements. These are expected to be incremental rather than ground breaking, resulting in just a few more miles per gallon and perhaps a few tenths of a second off the car’s 0-62mph sprint.
We’ve no images of the revised F-Type convertible, but the same changes are likely to apply to the drop-top model. Inside, expect the F-Type to get the XF and F-Pace’s updated infotainment system with widescreen display and pinch-to-zoom functionality. The same low-slung driving position and quality dashboard will feature, too.
We’ll have more information on the new Jaguar F-Type later this year. Deliveries should commence early in 2017.
