DETROIT — The 2017 Chevrolet Corvette Grand Sport coupe will start at $66,445, including a $995 destination charge, when it goes on sale at Chevrolet dealerships this summer.
The companion 2017 Corvette Grand Sport convertible is priced at $70,445.
This "track-bred" version of the Corvette slots in between the base 2016 Corvette, which starts at $56,395 and the top-of-the-line 2016 Corvette Z06 coupe, which carries a price tag of $80,395.
Chevrolet did not announce pricing on the 2017 Grand Sport Collector Edition, with an exclusive Watkins Glen Gray Metallic exterior and Tension Blue graphics. That version will arrive later in the model year.
The Grand Sport model is equipped with a 6.2-liter LT1 V8 engine rated at 480 horsepower and either a seven-speed manual transmission or optional eight-speed automatic transmission with paddle shifters.
The Grand Sport model adds several upgrades designed for track use.
They include Michelin Pilot Super Sport tires, Brembo brakes, standard magnetic ride control and an electronic limited-slip differential.
Unique exterior elements include specific front fender inserts and a Z06-style grille, along with wider fenders and rear quarter panels.
Exterior colors include Black Rose Metallic and Sterling Blue Metallic, which are new for the 2017 model year.
An optional Heritage package adds hash-mark fender graphics in six colors. Full-length stripes are offered in five colors.
The special Corvette can also be ordered with an optional Z07 package that adds carbon-ceramic brakes and a carbon-fiber aero package.
Key Corvette competitors include the Audi R8, Dodge SRT Viper and Porsche 911.
